Nigerian midfielder sets record with Dream Team VI captaincy






John Mikel Obi becomes the first Nigerian player to be captain of three different national teams at the same time.

Midfielder, John Mikel Obi has created a new record following his appointment as captain of Nigeria’s Dream Team VI to Rio 2016.


Dream Team VI coach, Samson Siasia last week confirmed that Mikel Obi would lead his side in the football events of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

The midfielder with that appointment, becomes the first Nigerian player to be captain of three different national teams at the same time.

Mikel Obi in March was appointed captain of the Super Eagles, replacing former skipper, Ahmed Musa who is now his assistant
